Bedford Borough Local Plan

Bedford Borough Council is preparing Local Plan 2040 which has now reached Regulation 19 stage. Local Plan 2040 builds on the Local Plan 2030 strategy and rolls the planning of the Borough on a further 10 years to 2040.

The strategy explains where homes and jobs will be delivered through new allocations alongside the allocations already adopted in the Local Plan 2030.

Bedford Borough Council when developing their planning framework strategy for development growth up to 2040, had included a large new settlement nearby the parish called Denybrook. The Parish Council invested enormous time and resources into the subsequent consultations to provide robust arguments relating to national and local planning policies as to why Denybrook would not be suitable. The last consultation took place between 15 June 2022 and 29 July 2022 where the proposed final Local Plan 2040 did not include Denybrook as an allocation being taken forwards.
