ANGLIAN WATER WORKS IN THE AREA

The Parish Council have received the following communication recently on the works expected to start shortly in the local area:

We’re investing to upgrading your local pipe network. Ten kilometres of water pipes between Ravensden and Keysoe have reached the end of their useful life, resulting in frequent burst. You can see a map of our pipeline route here.

We’ll use a technique called directional drilling to install 90% of the new pipeline. So, we can insert pipes underground without having to dig up large sections. It causes less disruption and reduces our carbon footprint. We’ll be starting this scheme on 17 June 2024 and expect to finish by the end this year, but as with any engineering scheme there is always the potential for unforeseen delays.

We’ll have two teams working on the project starting at either end of the route working towards each other to get this job done as quickly and safely as possible.

While we aim to reduce disruption to pedestrians and traffic as much as we can, our top priority will always be the safety of our staff and the public. This means we will the following traffic management in place:

· Kimbolton Road – Road Closure (Shrubbery Lane to New Road) 17 June to 02 Aug 2024
· Kimbolton Road – Road Closure (New Road to St Neots Road) 05 Aug – 01 Nov 2024
· Church Road – Road Closure 12 Aug – 09 Sep 2024
